Call Of Duty streamer banned from Twitch for misfiring gun

Call Of Duty pro Carl Reimer has been banned from Twitch after he accidentally fired a gun during a livestream.

We’ve seen Twitch streamers be banned from the platform for a multitude of reasons; only a few days ago, xQc was banned for briefly showing in-game nudity on his stream.

But we may have discovered a new first: being banned for firing a gun.

American (was he going to be from anywhere else?) Call Of Duty pro Carl Reimer ‘accidentally’ discharged his gun, which he was using to pretend to threaten someone. Instead he wound up shooting a nearby can of G-Fuel energy drink.

Thankfully, no one was injured and Reimer seemed to instantly recognise his mistake. Due to being banned from Twitch as a result, he took to YouTube to post an apology video, claiming he was intoxicated during the stream and stating that ‘guns are not a toy and are not to be messed with.’

Unfortunately for him, his actions have also led to him being let go from esports organisation SoaR Gaming, which posted on Twitter that he had been removed from its roster.

At the time of writing, it’s currently unknown whether Twitch will lift the ban. Given its track record, most popular streamers tend to get reinstated not long afterwards. Dr Disrespect, for example, was only banned for two weeks.

However, Reimer’s incident was arguably a lot more severe. He could potentially appeal to Twitch, much as Mega64 did, but we will have to wait and see.
