NPCI has announced a 30% cap on third party UPI app transactions


The National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) the umbrella organisation for operating retail payments and settlement systems in India, has announced a new norm. According to the NPCI a new cap will come into effect from January 2021, that will set a 30% cap on third party UPI app transactions.

This is likely to affect apps like Google Pay and PhonePe the most since they have the bulk of the transactions.
