Black Ops Cold War’s massive first season of content brings new modes, weapons, characters, and a whole lot more.

After initially being delayed, Activision and Treyarch have confirmed that Call Of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Season One will arrive in less than a week’s time.

Season One has been described as the largest ever free content drop in Black Ops history and, judging by how much has been detailed on the official website, it does appear to live up to that claim.

For starters, with it coming out so near Christmas, Season One includes a couple of festive updates.

The Nuketown ’84 map will receive a bit of an aesthetic overhaul, adorned with various Christmas decorations.

And, hilariously, a limited-time Zombies mode called Jingle Hells does the same for the Die Maschine map, though there will also be new weapon augments (like one that can freeze zombies), new power-ups, and even the zombies will dress up for the season.

In terms of wholly new content, there is a staggering amount. Season One brings three more multiplayer modes, which include the fan favourite Prop Hunt (where players disguise themselves as items found within the map) and Modern Warfare’s 2v2 Gunfight, which is appearing in a Black Ops game for the first time.

For the full list of maps, weapons, and characters, check out the website, which also covers the new content coming to Call Of Duty: Warzone, such as a new map called Rebirth Island (an old Soviet base that’s been repurposed into a prison/chemical bioweapon factory).

Activision and Treyarch also lay out the nitty gritty regarding Cold War/Warzone integration, which essentially brings Cold War’s playable Operatives and over 30 of its weapons into Warzone.

You’ll want to download the latest update for Cold War if you haven’t already, as it acts as preparation for when Season One drops.

The plan is for all of Cold War and Warzone’s content to become available on December 15 at 11pm PT. For those in the UK, that’s December 16 at 7am GMT.

Call Of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is available on PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, and Xbox One.

Call Of Duty: Warzone is available on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One and can be played on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S via backwards compatibility.
