Fortnite Operation Snowdown: Where to find Snowmando Outposts

Be sure to check any chests you find in the outposts too (Pic: Epic Games via GamesRadar)

To unlock Fortnite’s new Snowmando skin, you’ll need to visit all five of the Snowmando Outposts scattered across the map.

Fortnite’s Christmas-themed Operation Snowdown event is already underway, with its main reward being a new Snowmando skin (think Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Commando but… a snowman).

If you want the skin for yourself, you’ll need to complete a series of challenges to unlock it, with one of them being to locate five Snowmando Outposts.

This challenge appears to be giving some players trouble, so here’s a guide on where to look for them, so you can avoid randomly running around the map like a headless turkey.

The first is located to the west of Pleasant Park. It should be easy to spot but, in case you don’t know what you’re looking for, the outposts look like bunkers with a reddish-brown colouring and a white Christmas tree logo printed on them.

The second is to the far east near Steamy Stacks. Ideally, you’ll want to head southeast of Steamy Stacks and look for it near the river, right by the coastline.

The third is south of Holly Hedges. If you’re struggling to find this one, try locating the Log Jam building in the northwest of Slurpy Swamp and heading west from there.

Speaking of Slurpy Swamp, the fourth one is northeast from there and south from the road separating the swamp from Weeping Woods. You should be able to see the Hydro 16 landmark from where the outpost is.

The last one is all the way in the mountains south of Catty Corner. Look for it near the weather station, overlooking some aeroplanes.

You should be able to visit these in any order you wish. You just need to be careful about being picked off by other players on your way to them, as well as players that might already be at the outposts themselves.

Another challenge requires to search five chests at these outposts so be sure to do that as well whenever you find one.

Fortnite is available on PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.
