CDL 2021: when does it start and what teams are in it?

This year’s Call Of Duty League is about to start and it’s going to be very different from last year in terms of rules, teams, and in-game rewards.

The pandemic might still be in full swing but although you won’t be able to attend the Call Of Duty League in person it’s still going ahead as scheduled.

12 teams will battle it out on Call Of Duty: Black Ops Cold War but other than the game itself there will be several other changes to how things work, compared to last year.

Squads will now be made up of four people instead of five and there are lot of changes in terms of who’s playing for which team, so here’s everything you need to know…

When is CDL 2021 and where can you watch it?

Call Of Duty League 2021 starts on Thursday, February 11 and runs until Sunday, February 14.

You can see the full schedule below or updated each day on the official website.

The first match is between Minnesota Røkkr and Los Angeles Thieves and starts at fairly UK-friendly 8pm GMT.

To watch any of the matches all you need to do is go to the Call Of Duty League channel on YouTube.

You can even earn in-game rewards when you watch, including exclusive emblems and weapon stickers, if you link your account by following these instructions.

What are the rule changes in Call Of Duty League 2021?

Last year’s league used Modern Warfare but this year will use the more recent Black Ops Cold War, with all that implies about the different maps and weapons.
The modes played will also be changed though, with more Search & Destroy and Hardpoint, and Control replacing Domination.

Another big change is that all CDL matches will now be played on PC rather than console, although competitors will only be able to use controllers and not a mouse and keyboard.
