Fortnite fans think Kevin the Cube will return for Season 6

The next season of Fortnite is still a way off, but fans have a theory for what it could entail, and it involves the mysterious Cube.

Ever since Fortnite Season 5 started, portals have been popping up across the island, bringing with them crossover characters like the Mandalorian and the Predator.

While this is obviously the big theme of the season, some fans have begun to theorise that the portals may point to what will happen in Season 6. One fan, duskyxclops on Reddit, believes that the portals’ positions are making a shape.

They posted an image of the map with the portals’ locations and, through some guesswork/wishful thinking, predicts where the next lot of them will appear. If they’re correct, they will form a cube-like shape.

Why is this significant? Because there is a mysterious item known as The Cube (nicknamed Kevin by fans), which was introduced in 2018 during Fortnite’s first chapter and hasn’t been seen since.

Some have argued that the cube drawing is a massive stretch on duskyxclops’ part, but some now think that it makes sense for the Cube to make a reappearance, claiming that each season throughout Chapter 2 matches up with the seasons from Chapter 1.

For example, both chapters’ Season 4 were themed around superheroes and both the current and previous Season 5 had something to do with worlds colliding. While the Cube did first appear in Chapter 1 Season 5, it played a very integral role in Season 6.

As that season had a darkness theme, it’s now suspected that the various portals will be corrupted by some dark energy, perhaps caused by the Cube, which is also theorised to be the power source for the power plant in Steamy Stacks.

Season 5 isn’t expected to end until around the middle of March, but you can expect Epic Games to drop teases and foreshadowing for the beginning of Season 6, if it hasn’t started already.

Fortnite is available on PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.
