Survival game Valheim has sold over 3 million copies in just 16 days.

Publisher Coffee Stain Publishing and developer Iron Gate AB announced the milestone, as well as the game’s new 390,000 peak player count, IGN reports. As the Iron Gate team jokes, its sales numbers are akin to “74,219 longhouses stuffed with Vikings singing songs and celebrating victory with some great tasting mead.”

The game continues to shatter records despite its short time on the market. At the 13-day mark in Steam’s Early Access period, Valheim had already sold 2 million copies. During its short time in Steam Early Access, the game also include amassed over 60,000 “Very Positive” reviews and rose to the seventh most streamed game on Twitch. This puts newcomer Valheim above heavy-hitters like CS:Go, Dota 2, Minecraft, and Rust.

Viewers have amassed over 20 million hours of gameplay since Valheim hit the scene. Tuning in to Valheim means watching players struggle to survive in often harsh environments. The game pits players against procedurally generated worlds teeming with enemies. The punishing combat system is challenging and intuitive. Layered on top of that are crafting and base building systems. It’s a nuanced series of mechanics that take a while to learn, which is part of the fun for many viewers.

Valheim is currently available for PC players only via Steam.
