The UK finals for Red Bull Campus Clutch will be held on April 24, as the remaining four teams battle it out for a spot in the global final.

The Campus Clutch Valorant tournament is an esports event featuring student teams from around the world.

After making their way through regional competitions, the finalists will be competing for €20,000 (£17,000) in prize money, as well as a ‘start-of-the-art gaming hub’ for their university.

The aim is to help grow the competitive ecosystem of collegiate and university campuses around the world, as well as offer a path to pro for upcoming Valorant players of all levels.

The UK’s four finalists, who have already come through their local qualifier, will also receive a boot camp experience at the Red Bull Gaming Sphere in London this summer in order to practice.

Plus they’ll be given tips from existing Valorant professional players to help improve their overall play.

The Red Bull Gaming Sphere in Shoreditch opened in 2018 and has played host to a number of gaming and esports events.

Valorant has been a fast-growing esport since it launched in 2020. Developed by Riot Games, the makers of League Of Legends, it looks set to be a real challenger to Counter-Strike: Global Offensive as the top competitive first person shooter.

The Valorant Champions Tour is kicking off this year, as teams from top esports organisations compete to be the best.

There is also an initiative called Game Changers, an array of Valorant esports tournaments held around the world throughout this year focused around creating ‘opportunities and exposure for women and other marginalised genders.’
